MIKE CONGRATULATES FORFAR FIRM ON LOCAL FOOD AWARD
Angus MP Mike Weir has congratulated Forfar based firm Strathmore Foods after their McIntosh ready meals and pies were named Tesco’s favourite local Scottish brand as part of the competition launched during Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight.
Commenting Mr Weir said
“I warmly congratulate Strathmore Foods in achieving this award. Food and drink is a vital component of our local economy and, indeed the Scottish economy as a whole. It is good to see an innovative local business being recognised in this way.”
“Angus produces some of the finest food and drink in the country. Our fresh foods from beef through to fish is well renowned and it is good to see such excellence being replicated in the ready meals market.”
