WEIR ATTENDS COUNTRYSIDE FESTIVAL

Angus MP Mike Weir paid a visit to the Countryside Festival at Glamis Castle on Saturday.

Commenting on the visit Mr Weir said that he was very impressed by the range of stalls and activities at the event.

“The countryside plays a vital part in the Angus economy and it was great to see so many different aspects of that economy represented at Glamis Castle. This event not only promotes the countryside but also shows how much we can gain from encouraging local enterprise.”

“The event coincided with the launch of Scottish Food Fortnight and there was an impressive selection of foods on sale in the produce tent. Although by no means all of them were from Angus it does show the wide variety of foods that are produced by local producers here and elsewhere.”
