WEIR & BANK SEARCH FREE ATM SITE
Following up on the Bank of Scotland’s announcement that they wish to site a free Automated Teller Machine (ATM) within the Borthock Ward of Arbroath, Mike Weir MP met with representatives from the bank to tour the ward looking for potential sites for a machine.
Commenting on the matter, Mr Weir said:
“Clearly the provision of free access in withdrawing money is important in the Brothock area and I was delighted to have been given the opportunity to show the ban potential sites in the ward.
“Obviously there are minimum requirements in respect of security and access for such an ATM which restricts the choice in an area which is mostly residential.
“We did, however, identify sites that are maybe suitable and the bank are to investigate the matter further. I will be keeping a close interest in this matter and am pleased that the bank is taking a pro-active attitude at looking for sites, although I did also emphasise to them that one of the problems in Angus, is not the lack of free ATM access in urban areas but more at rural sites.”
