PM'S NUCLEAR OBSESSION THE WRONG ANSWER FOR SCOTLAND

Speaking following his exchange with the Prime Minister at PMQs today, SNP MP Mike Weir said:

"The Prime Minister's nuclear obsession is the wrong answer for Scotland.

"Scotland produces seven times more gas than we use. We will be self-sufficient for decades to come, so there is no problem of security
of supply for Scotland. Tony Blair needs to wake up to this Scottish reality.

"And yet, the Prime Minister is determined to press on and foist new nuclear power stations and new nuclear dumps on Scotland.

"This is bad news for communities across the country. Scotland needs an anti-nuclear SNP government in place to protect our nation from Tony Blair's damaging and dangerous pro-nuclear policies."
