GOVERNMENT MUST COUGH UP ON CARBON CAPTURE FUNDING

SNP Spokesperson on Trade & Industry, Mike Weir MP, has demanded an answer from the Government on why it is delaying funding for the very promising carbon capture project in Peterhead. 

Speaking after Trade & Industry Questions, Mr Weir said:

“This project has nearly a two year lead over many other proposal in the UK, and a full year lead over anything else in the world.  The technology is potentially planet saving as well as world leading.

“The Minister’s response that effectively there has been no delay because they hadn’t made a decision yet is ludicrous. 

“It is time for the Government to get it act together and come up with the goods.”
