MIKE VISITS ANGUS HEALTH FAIR
Mike regrets having his BMI checked!
Angus MP Mike Weir visited the Angus Health Fair held at
the Reid Hall Forfar today to speak to the organisations
taking part about their work and the current situation
facing voluntary organisations.
Commenting on the visit Mr
Weir said
“ In the course of the
visit I took part in some fo their activities, from a
head and shoulder massage from the Red Cross to making
my own smoothie with bicycle power, which is harder than
it looks!”
“As always the Fair
provided a forum for a very wide range of organisations
covering all aspects of Health and Welfare , and
including support for social enterprises ,which are an
innovative way to establish small businesses within our
communities.”
“Funding is always a problem for many voluntary
organisations and this is especially true in the current
financial situation. It was encouraging, however, to
speak to so many organisations who were finding ways to
continue their invaluable work in these difficult
times.”
