MIKE VISITS NEW ARBROATH BUSINESS

Angus MP Mike Weir today visited recently established Arbroath business Abbey Blinds and Designs in the High Street.
Mike discussed many of the concerns of local small businesses with proprietors Lindsay Palsar and Gillian McKenzie and was given a tour of the premises.
Commenting on the visit Mr Weir said
“It is good to see such an innovative new business opening up in Arbroath High Street . Lindsay and Gillian have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into establishing their enterprise which, as well as supplying and fitting blinds carries a wide range from ornaments through to handbags.”
“We hear so much about shop closures and the gloomy state of retail that it is refreshing to see them rising to the challenge and bringing some life into Arbroath High Street.”
“Clearly life is never easy for small businesses and I was pleased to discuss with them the challenges that they face and what they think government should be doing to help make a success of new small businesses.”
