MP UNSURPRISED BY CSA COMPLAINTS INCREASE

Angus MP, Mike Weir, is unsurprised that a report into the Child Support Agency has found that complaints against the agency continue to rise, because of the number of constituents still coming to Mr Weir exasperated after dealing with the agency.

Mr Weir said:

“I doubt many Angus constituents who have dealt with the CSA will be surprised at the reporter’s findings  Many parents, on both sides, continue to experience extreme difficulties in either receiving maintenance money or requesting a review of their payments through the Agency.

“The problems of both the IT and administrative systems have made the Agency the disaster since its inception.

“This is why urgent changes are required immediately and it is  imperative that the work being carried out by Sir David Henshaw, charged by the Government, to develop proposals for the redesign of the Agency are published on time at the end of summer.

“Any new proposals must offer proper reconstruction of the Child Support Agency and the Government must implement these changes immediately in order to prevent further chaos reigning at the Agency.”
